Breakfast Nook Furniture Sets

Some people do not like purchasing furniture sets. This could be because they feel it is cost prohibitive to buy all the pieces at once or because they like the character that mismatched furniture brings to a room. Therefore, they prefer to buy each piece separately or use inherited pieces from friends or family members.

There are a number of positives to purchasing sets for you breakfast nook. Usually there are size limitations to this room and sets are made with that in mind. They usually consist of table with a single bench and a corner shaped bench. Benches save a lot of room when used instead of chairs. In a normal dining table situation with chairs, you will expect a person to take up to 12-15 square feet of space but when sitting on a bench you can expect that same person to take up about 9 square feet. Another plus to using a breakfast nook set is that the benches usually come with storage built in. Most families will not only use this room for eating, but also for kids to color, paint, do homework, etc. and the built in storage can be a convenient place to keep all of those supplies while eating meals. If you don't have kids and don't need to find storage for their many a sundry items you can use this storage space for linens, unusual cooking instruments like a deep fryer or slow cooker that take up a lot of room on the counter or in cabinets.

In terms of being cost prohibitive, you can find complete breakfast nooks for as little as $300. If you are willing to spend a little more, you can find sets for up to $2,000. I would plan to spend around $1,000 to $1,200 if you want a set with reasonable quality to last your family years.

Now, while some people think that mismatched furniture adds character I happen to believe that match pieces can bring a room together. I find that I entertain 95% of my guests in the breakfast nook area and I think that the matched set that we have makes the room seem more inviting. I fell that my college days of mismatched everything are behind me and the match set makes my house feel more like a home instead of a dorm room or apartment.
